What we've been doing

Eight recent stories from our work across southern and western Honduras

From an environmental festival to our 15th container of medicine, these are the days, partnerships, and donations we've worked on these past few weeks alongside communities, volunteers, and partner institutions.

By the numbers

Ecofest closed with a day dedicated to art, solidarity, and the environment

We wrapped up another edition of Ecofest together with Unimall Choluteca, surrounded by families, volunteers, and partners who believe, just as we do, in caring for the environment.

The third day had a special ingredient: volunteers from the Casa de la Cultura joined us with live music and portrait drawing, and art blended with the environmental cause to create something neither one achieves alone.

None of this would be possible without everyone who stopped by to donate, took part in the activities, or took home a plant from our nursery. Everyone who passed through left more than a purchase behind — they left a real contribution to environmental education, ecosystem restoration, and the wellbeing of communities across southern Honduras.

Thank you for continuing to show up.

We received a new container of medicine to strengthen healthcare in Honduras

Container number 14 of medicine and medical supplies has arrived, donated by our partner MAP International. Behind that number are thousands of people who will soon have access to treatments they don't have today.

Before that happens, there's quieter work to do: receiving, sorting, and checking every product, one by one, to make sure distribution is efficient and transparent. Only that way can we guarantee that what arrives in this container ends up in the right hands.

Once that process wraps up, the medicine will reach close to 35 health facilities spread across different regions of the country. It's one more step in a partnership we maintain with a single goal: bringing quality healthcare to those who need it most.

We're strengthening partnerships to expand opportunities for Honduran women

How do you open doors for women in southern Honduras? With conversations like the one our Executive Director, Joaquín Romero, held with Ciudad Mujer's Presidential Delegate, Welsy Vásquez.

That meeting produced concrete ideas: areas where we can collaborate, initiatives we can build together, a starting point for working toward shared wellbeing.

We talked about training, entrepreneurship, economic independence, and access to comprehensive services. Pieces that, together, make a real difference in a woman's life, her family's, and her whole community's. We remain convinced of something simple: the more partnerships we build, the further our work reaches.

PESI Brigade promotes early detection and prevention in childhood

Some health issues, caught early, can completely change a child's future. That's what the PESI Brigade — which we run together with Fundación CAMO-Honduras is all about, reaching coastal communities in southern Honduras.

During the brigade, we carried out hearing and vision screenings, applied fluoride to protect children's oral health, and talked with them about hygiene and personal care. Things that sound simple, but that make the difference between catching a condition early and letting it affect a child's learning and development.

For cases that need more than a routine screening, we follow up with specialized medical care. Because prevention is, more often than not, the most effective form of care.

We're strengthening healthcare access for Honduran women

L 624,000 in medicine. That's our most recent donation to Ciudad Mujer, and behind that figure are thousands of Honduran women who will receive more timely care.

We know that for many women, reaching medical treatment isn't easy. The barriers are real: distance, cost, time. That's exactly what this contribution aims to address — lowering those barriers and expanding the availability of essential medicine at an institution that serves so many women every day.

We believe in partnerships built with a clear purpose. And we keep showing up, working alongside institutions that, like us, want to improve the quality of life for Honduran families.

A new medicine delivery strengthens healthcare in western Honduras

More than L 96 million in medicine — the largest amount we've delivered yet under the "Improving Health in Honduras" partnership, reaching 17 facilities in Ocotepeque, Comayagua, and Copán.

No partnership of this size stands on its own. This is the result of joint work with MAP International, Friends of FUNDESUR, and the Government of Honduras, all rowing toward the same goal: a stronger health system with more essential medicine available.

What this means in practice is simple: thousands of people will receive timely treatment and better-quality care. And for us, that's proof that partnerships built on real commitment do leave a lasting mark.

We received container number 15 to keep strengthening access to medicine

That makes fifteen. Fifteen containers of medicine and medical supplies we've received together with MAP International and Friends of FUNDESUR, and each one tells the same story: trust, commitment, and a shared vision.

Think about what a single container represents: hospitals, health centers, and entire institutions suddenly having the resources they needed to care for their people.

This time we also have a special welcome to extend. La Fuente Cargo Georgia is joining as a new strategic partner, backing the medicine program and strengthening our transport logistics. With every new partner, help reaches more places, faster. We keep building bridges between health, hope, and the families who need us.

We're driving a partnership to strengthen care for people with disabilities
