In an effort to improve the quality of life in rural communities in Honduras, Fundesur, in collaboration with Costa Meeresspezialitäten, has launched a significant initiative in the communities of Los Prados 1 and 2, located in the municipality of Namasigüe. Thanks to this partnership, 40 sanitary modules were delivered, directly benefiting 145 people with an investment of over L. 1,422,000.
This project is vital in a country where approximately 1.3 million people still lack access to basic sanitation services. The absence of adequate sanitary facilities is a major factor in the spread of gastrointestinal diseases, such as diarrhea and other infections that particularly affect children and the elderly, two of the most vulnerable groups.
The installation of these modules will not only improve hygiene conditions but will also help reduce the incidence of these diseases in the Los Prados communities. Additionally, this project is part of a broader strategy to combat the lack of sanitation in rural areas of Honduras, one of the main public health challenges facing the country.
Fundesur and Costa Meeresspezialitäten continue to work hand in hand to bring sustainable solutions to the most needy communities, demonstrating that collaboration between the private sector and nonprofit organizations can have a transformative impact on the lives of many people.
