Partnership to Strengthen Access to Healthcare in Honduras

FUNDESUR, the Government of Honduras, MAP International, and Friends of Fundesur have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the "Improving Health in Honduras" partnership, a collaborative initiative aimed at strengthening the country's healthcare system and expanding access to essential health services for vulnerable communities.

Over the next four years, the initiative is expected to benefit nearly one million people by increasing access to essential medicines and medical supplies, strengthening rural health centers and clinics, and mobilizing international partnerships and resources to support the country's healthcare system.

Key components of the initiative include approximately US$10 million in donated medicines each year, investments to strengthen healthcare facilities, and coordinated efforts to improve access to quality healthcare services.

New Pre-Basic Education Center Benefits Children in Varsovia, El Triunfo

After more than 15 years of waiting, the community of Varsovia, El Triunfo, now has a new pre-basic education center that will provide boys and girls with an adequate space to begin their learning process.

The project was made possible thanks to the alliance between FUNDESUR, Seafresh, and Marks & Spencer, with an investment of L 1,091,157 destined for the construction and equipping of an educational center designed to offer better teaching conditions. The new facilities include fully equipped classrooms, air conditioning, a playground, educational technology, teaching materials, and restrooms, creating a safe and appropriate environment for early childhood integral development.

The opening of this new kindergarten will allow the children of Varsovia to access higher quality pre-basic education in a space designed to foster their learning, well-being, and growth from their early years of life.

FUNDESUR Joins the Mega Colecta 2026 to Support Children with Cancer

As part of its commitment to the health and well-being of Honduran children, FUNDESUR made a donation of L 200,000to the Fundación Hondureña para el Niño con Cáncer (Honduran Foundation for Children with Cancer), within the framework of the Mega Colecta 2026.

The contribution aims to strengthen the care currently provided by the Foundation, supporting access to medicines, treatments, and essential services for their recovery. FUNDESUR's participation in this initiative reflects the importance of joining forces among organizations, businesses, and civil society to back families facing this illness and help ensure that more boys and girls continue to receive the care they need.

Through actions like this, FUNDESUR reaffirms its commitment to working alongside strategic partners on initiatives that promote well-being, health, and better opportunities for the Honduran population.
