Delivering School Kits: Opening Doors to Opportunity
We are proud to announce the start of our annual distribution of school kits for children who need them most. These kits represent far more than backpacks and supplies they provide students with the essential tools to begin the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
For many families in the communities we serve, the start of a new academic year brings financial strain. The cost of notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and basic materials can become an overwhelming burden. For some children, not having these supplies can mean delayed enrollment or not attending school at all.
Each school kit delivered represents opportunity. It means a child will not fall behind. It means a student can walk into the classroom with dignity and hope. Without this support, education could become a distant dream rather than an attainable right.
At FUNDESUR, we firmly believe that education is a powerful driver of lasting change. It equips children with the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to shape their futures and contribute to stronger, more resilient communities.
By providing these school kits, we are not only supporting students at the start of the academic year we are investing in their potential and planting seeds of transformation for the future.

New Clinical Laboratory Delivered in Choluteca
We are pleased to announce the completion and delivery of a new Clinical Laboratory at the Las Acacias Health Center in Choluteca an important step toward strengthening access to timely and dignified healthcare services in the region.
This project was made possible through the donation of construction materials provided by FUNDESUR, representing a total investment of L 202,205. More than a physical structure, this laboratory marks a significant advancement in the community’s capacity to deliver accurate and timely medical diagnoses.
In addition to the clinical laboratory, the project also includes a hospitalization and medical stabilization room, further enhancing the health center’s ability to respond to emergencies and provide comprehensive patient care
Over the past year alone, the Las Acacias Health Center delivered more than 21,000 medical consultations clear evidence of the growing demand for accessible healthcare services. With the new laboratory now operational, the facility will be able to perform between 800 and 1,000 diagnostic tests per month, bringing essential services closer to the community and reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for basic medical exams.
Access to timely laboratory testing is critical for disease prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment. This new space not only improves clinical efficiency it helps save lives by enabling faster and more informed medical decisions.
At FUNDESUR, we remain committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across southern Honduras, knowing that investing in dignified medical services means investing in prevention, well-being, and hope for the communities we serve.

Taking Firm Steps to Strengthen Community Health
We continue advancing our commitment to improving healthcare access across the communities we serve. Recently, we carried out the first distributions of essential and life-saving medications, made possible through our ongoing partnership with MAP International.
This strategic collaboration allows us to strengthen local healthcare services by ensuring that clinics and health centers are equipped with fundamental medicines needed to treat common and chronic conditions. In many vulnerable communities, access to basic medications can mean the difference between prolonged suffering and timely relief.
Each shipment delivered represents more than medical supplies it represents hope. It means families can receive treatment close to home, without the financial burden of purchasing medications they often cannot afford. It means health providers can respond more effectively to the needs of their patients.
Through this partnership with MAP International, we are expanding our capacity to serve thousands of individuals, reinforcing prevention efforts, and improving overall community well-being.
At FUNDESUR, we remain committed to building sustainable health systems that ensure dignity, access, and opportunity for every family.

Change That Starts at Home
In the community of Montecristo, Namasigüe, we took an important step toward improving family well-being by delivering 20 sanitary modules, directly benefiting 20 families who now have safer and healthier living conditions.
Beyond infrastructure, each module represents something deeper: dignity, health, and security. Today, we share one of these stories not from a place of scarcity, but from a place of restored dignity.
In the home of Amanda Maradiaga, her husband Fausto Ayala, and their daughter María, daily life was shaped by the lack of an adequate space for personal hygiene. The latrine they relied on no longer met the needs of the household, limiting something as basic as bathing or washing clothes safely and with privacy. Situations like this, common among many families in the community, affect not only comfort but also health and self-esteem.
Economic limitations made it difficult for them to access a solution on their own one that could guarantee safety and well-being. Through our sanitary module program, we helped facilitate access to a fundamental right: a dignified space for personal care.
Today, this family has a sanitary module that significantly improves their quality of life. More than a physical structure, it is a space that strengthens their autonomy, protects their health, and allows them to live with greater peace of mind.
At FUNDESUR, we believe that development begins at home when every family can live with dignity and security.

Varsovia Breathes Hope
After years of holding classes under a tree, in borrowed spaces, and sharing classrooms with other grade levels, the community of Varsovia is on the verge of seeing a long-awaited dream come true: having a kindergarten of its own.
Today, the Varsovia Kindergarten has reached 90% completion, marking a significant milestone for dozens of young children who will soon begin their education in a dignified, safe, well-ventilated, and light-filled space. What was once a collective aspiration is now becoming a tangible reality solid walls, secure roofing, and classrooms designed with children’s well-being and development in mind.
For years, early childhood education in the community took place under limited conditions. Without proper infrastructure, each school day came with challenges that extended beyond learning itself. Yet hope never faded. Families, teachers, and community leaders held firmly to the belief that their children deserved better opportunities.
This new educational center represents far more than a construction project. It will be a place where laughter echoes freely, where notebooks open with excitement, and where knowledge is shared each day with dedication and care. It will nurture creativity, strengthen confidence, and lay a strong foundation for every child’s academic journey.
The Varsovia Kindergarten also stands as a powerful example of what can be achieved when communities, strategic partners, and generous hearts come together. Its progress demonstrates that collective dreams can become reality through shared commitment and vision.
Very soon, Varsovia will not only celebrate a new building it will celebrate a true seedbed of opportunity, where the dreams of tomorrow’s leaders begin to take root.

Promoting Children’s Oral Health Together with Colgate
At FUNDESUR, we believe every smile reflects well-being, confidence, and opportunity. That is why we are proud to strengthen our partnership with Colgate, a company committed to investing in the future of children through the promotion of oral health.
Thanks to their generous donation of oral hygiene products, thousands of girls and boys in southern Honduras will receive kits that help them care for their health from an early age. Yet this initiative goes beyond simply distributing supplies.
Through our “Building Smiles” program, each kit distribution is accompanied by educational sessions designed to reinforce learning and promote healthy habits. Children are taught proper brushing techniques, correct use of toothbrushes and toothpaste, and the importance of oral hygiene as part of overall health.
Prevention is essential. Many oral health conditions can be avoided with proper education and access to basic hygiene products. This partnership not only protects smiles it contributes to children’s confidence, well-being, and long-term development.
We are grateful to Colgate for believing in the smiles of tomorrow and for joining us in building healthier communities. When the private sector and social organizations work together, impact grows and smiles last.
