One Step Closer to a Dignified Education
At FUNDESUR, we firmly believe that education is the foundation of a more just society with greater opportunities. That’s why we’re excited to share that we’ve begun receiving the school supplies and backpacks that will be included in the school kits to be distributed to more than 10,000 children in 200 schools across rural and vulnerable areas in southern Honduras.
These kits are more than just materials—they are a stepping stone toward learning, a tool to prevent school dropout, and a tangible symbol of solidarity with Honduran children. In regions where educational opportunities are scarce and resources limited, a simple notebook or backpack can make a big difference in a child’s journey toward a brighter future.
This project is made possible thanks to the support of partners, volunteers, and donors who share our vision of a country where every child has access to a dignified education. Each delivery is a seed of hope planted in the heart of our communities.

United for Life and Child Health
Thanks to our important partnership with the Fundación Salud Infantil and the generous support of the Alicante Provincial Council in Spain, we’ve carried out a vital donation that strengthens healthcare delivery in southern Honduras.
We donated three state-of-the-art vital signs monitors to the Southern Regional Hospital, the primary healthcare center in the area. Valued at over L 180,400, these devices will allow healthcare professionals to monitor the vital signs of newborns in critical condition in real time, ensuring more precise and timely care.
This technology is essential for preventing complications, enabling swift medical response to any changes in the patient’s condition. With this donation, the hospital’s capacity to save lives from the very first minutes of life is greatly enhanced—especially in contexts where access to specialized medical equipment is extremely limited.
We are proud to take part in efforts that strengthen public healthcare and place our most vulnerable population—children—at the heart of our mission.

Joining Forces to Bring Back the Light
FUNDESUR is proud to take part in the mission of restoring vision and hope to hundreds of people through the Free Cataract Surgery Brigade, held at the San Lorenzo Hospital in partnership with the Rotary Club of Choluteca and the Palma-Almudaina Rotary Club of Spain.
During this five-day medical campaign, around 300 eye surgeries will be performed, benefiting both elderly patients and children under six years old who risk permanent vision loss if not treated in time. To support this effort, FUNDESUR donated essential medical supplies valued at L 25,300.
It’s worth noting that each surgery would normally cost L 55,000 at a private clinic, making them inaccessible for many families. Thanks to this initiative, these individuals now have free access to life-changing care, allowing them to regain not just their sight, but also their independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Altogether, the brigade represents a collective effort valued at over L 16.5 million, making it one of the most impactful initiatives in the region. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the medical team and specialists who traveled from Spain, as well as all those who contributed with dedication and compassion to make this humanitarian mission possible.
